Lord Jesus,
you knew days of darkness,

help us, for we too,
walk lonely roads
and face trials
that seem difficult to bear.
Be our companion
our silent friend
our unseen strength,
that we might face with courage
whatever lies before us.
You, who live and reign
with the Holy Spirit,
one God,
for ever and ever.
